Why did the msrnlsar tj..kar .kjjkjrr

Hey, funny stuff - the parts i could understand - the amplification recorded with a video camera then compressed into a flash didn't really do it much justice. It was hard to understand alot of the quieter parts.

You've pretty good though, so keep it going!

Chrispy responds:

Thanks, you should watch it in higher quality, it's easier to understand :)

Hello again

The music was a nice touch - otherwise my comments still stand. That gunfire needs to be turned DOWN! It's waaaaaay too loud - also the first dialog part needs to come up in volume because it's drowned out by the music.

Good work on the music though - fits the action perfecto.

Ahhh.

Fix the sound, take out the cheesy 'scary yell' bit and maybe it'll come close to decent. Your randomness is pretty neat, but you could have really done a better job than this.

Not impressed.

Practice?

Wonderful flash for a PRACTICE flash... now THAT's what i like to see!

It was ... cinematic - played out well with great scenes and storyline - the only part i didn't like so much was how the beginning didn't really go with the music - it felt too hard for the poor little squirrel, but as soon as the storm hit everything fell into sync and it was all good!

Beautiful animation - smooth etc. Looks good - you spared no expense. Congratulations, whatever it was that you were practicing, i think you got it down.

Looking forward to more from you!

Actually made me laugh

Maybe i'm just sadistic but i found it funny. Alot better than the last one i reviewed haha - but really - graphics were not the worst i've seen - at least he wasn't a stick figure - i love that song - thanks for letting me know who it is (runs to soulseek to download it) and finally your timing for the asteroid was dead on - not too long of a pause for it - it came right on.

Spend more time making it look good - then you'll do great.

I voted to save this one from the abyss because i feel it's worth the whole 30 seconds it takes to watch it, at least.

You sell yourselves short!

The animation was splendid - the voices were great, but i think some 'real' sound effects would be in order, and maybe a little bit of a musical score behind it all... eh? Fruity Loops, man... get it, love it. Use it.

Maybe it was just me, but it felt like the PLAY button wasn't the easiest to click on... maybe you guys need to just increase the clickable area on it? I got it before i could really judge if that was the problem or not.

Oh, and some background stuff would be cool too - get something like ART RAGE and make some funky lookin' background and put it as a stationary image behind all the action.

Well, those are my comments and suggestions! Good work! Keep it up!

Gravity

Your gravity was a bit off - even for a cartoonish short, things just seemed to happen a little too slowly. The jumping was languish, and the controller fell a bit too slow to have been any where near real.

Also, i think the lack of sound effects wasn't really adding anything to the short.

All in all it was good looking, and a good idea, but lacked those finer characteristics that would seperate it from the rest of the 3D junk i've seen.

Not so smooth

your animation wasn't really smooth at all - especially the loop with him walking. I couldn't get over that... he jerks around too much. Just go in, find the bad frames, and redraw them. easy as that. I liked how you took the time out to make sure you couldn't see things THROUGH him though - you'd be suprised how lazy people can be.

Not a bad effort in any case, but not an especially good one, in the end.

just to let you know, I did that on purpose. but because you guys are constantly annoyed by this, I am making a new depresidio, with smoother, bit still slightly jerky, longer, and better cartoon. it should be up soon.

Mouse Schmouse

First off i'll let you know that you need an ADESSO tablet. it's just as good as those intuous ones, but at half the price. Check it out, ok? Adesso(dot)com

As far as the animation itself goes, the whole thing reeks of Cowboy Bebop. The mannerisms, the storyline - the only thing is it isn't in space. I know, i know, you're just putting your own spin on a similar storyline, but i'm just letting you know that the connection is obvious to anyone who's seen Cowboy Bebop.

The art was great - i can't wait to see what you can do with a tablet!

Summary: Deviate from Bebop-esque storylines, buy the tablet, and put the playstation down! (j/k haha)

Good work!

Great Stuff!

I watched this little short, and it inspired me to watch the rest of your submissions. What you really need to do is make a whole episode - a long thing. These have a sort of clerks vibe (aside from the video store aspect, i'm talking about customer relations here!) Though these are great, their potential i feel is not fully explored within their timeframe.

Also, when you get to that point, i feel you should have a co-star on it. When you start making longer cartoons, or hell, even just MORE cartoons, i think you'll find that your little video clerk can't hump the whole thing on his own.

You've got a great start for a good series - i'm adding you to my fav' list so i can keep tabs.

Oh and your sound quality rocks - good work!

Ajar responds:

Thanks for your input. We're actually working on what you just described here; it's in a classroom setting and the video guy is only one of several characters. It should be ready in a month or two. It's a longer format as well. Thanks again for you thoughful comments!
