Hey, funny stuff - the parts i could understand - the amplification recorded with a video camera then compressed into a flash didn't really do it much justice. It was hard to understand alot of the quieter parts.

You've pretty good though, so keep it going!

Not so smooth

your animation wasn't really smooth at all - especially the loop with him walking. I couldn't get over that... he jerks around too much. Just go in, find the bad frames, and redraw them. easy as that. I liked how you took the time out to make sure you couldn't see things THROUGH him though - you'd be suprised how lazy people can be.

Not a bad effort in any case, but not an especially good one, in the end.

just to let you know, I did that on purpose. but because you guys are constantly annoyed by this, I am making a new depresidio, with smoother, bit still slightly jerky, longer, and better cartoon. it should be up soon.

Great Stuff!

I watched this little short, and it inspired me to watch the rest of your submissions. What you really need to do is make a whole episode - a long thing. These have a sort of clerks vibe (aside from the video store aspect, i'm talking about customer relations here!) Though these are great, their potential i feel is not fully explored within their timeframe.

Also, when you get to that point, i feel you should have a co-star on it. When you start making longer cartoons, or hell, even just MORE cartoons, i think you'll find that your little video clerk can't hump the whole thing on his own.

You've got a great start for a good series - i'm adding you to my fav' list so i can keep tabs.

Oh and your sound quality rocks - good work!

Thanks for your input. We're actually working on what you just described here; it's in a classroom setting and the video guy is only one of several characters. It should be ready in a month or two. It's a longer format as well. Thanks again for you thoughful comments!

This wasn't a waste of anyones time if they'd bother to watch the damn thing. It was really cool i thought - random and funny, yet still linear in an 'on crack' sort of way. So you wrote the teapot song? That's some funny shit - that's a crazy lookin' teapot, too... cap'n eart hahaha "cut your grass too short cuz its a form of pollution" haha stupid eco-mother fuckers!

So yes, you should be honored because this was a long flash and i didn't even stop early - i watched the whole damn thing. The sherlock holmes guy's mouth was done really well... and i felt that doing cleese like they did the shit in Monty Python showed that you put SOME thought into this, and i liked the preloader as well.

Psychadelic and violent.

You do realize that the sound cuts out after the intro, right? If you didn't know when you released it, ok, cool - mistake.

If you did - then you really really really need to continue with the sound - it's one of the main things that made the intro so entertaining. The rest looks pretty cool, but i stopped watching halfway through figuring i'd wait for a version with sound to watch it all.

In general - good stuff. Solid plotline - runs smooth - good sound (that is, when there IS sound ;-)

Your animation was too slow. Especially the blablabla industries logo part - agonizing!!!

The lipsynching was so off, he could have been having an orgasm and we'd never know.

It wasn't lypsynching, it was a moving mouth. I din't actually try to synch it. It would have been less random.

One thing that saves this...

hahahha great great... could talk a little faster though for most of the dialogue, and record some silence so you can fill in the gaps between sound clips. Also, try drawing in the seams, like when he's waving, draw the arm at the joint so it doesn't look like his arm is a popsicle stick puppet, k?

Funny, but a tad slow at times. Could benefit also from learning how to set up a sound recording area (i.e. soundproofing) and from other guest voices and possibly even some original music as well!

A simple obervation:

I noticed that some of the occurences in your flash were a little slow....... the one that stands out most in my mind was the throwing of the paper ball. It travelled a little too slow in the air to successfully simulate... well... what it was.

Also at the beginning alot of the movement was very... ah... languid (lacking energy or vitality)

Yep. That's about that, though - very fun little animation! Very nicely done.

Not as good as the first one..

You kinda lost me at the end there... maybe you should have recorded more samples of him calling for his friend because the same one over and over just wasn't sitting well in my ears.

Then i think that ending it as such probably wasn't the greatest of ideas, not without a "to be continued" or anything especially, but i think there really should have been more to the flash.

Finally i'll just say how the jumpiness of the mouths is pretty cool, but the super lack of correct shaping of the mouths irks me.

Other than that, i like the storyline and for the most part, the script - i actually was excited to see what this one had in store for me, and i'm sure it'll be the same for the next one!

Listen, if your crappy flash got blammed for WHATEVER reason, that doesn't mean it's going to do any better the SECOND time around. Hell, if you're going to resubmit, it'd be more to your advantage to WAIT a day or so before doing it, then you'll probably get DIFFERENT VOTERS than those who voted the FIRST TIME AROUND, like myself.
